A new employment comparison website has been launched enabling job seekers to both publish and source reviews about their experiences with employers. Instigated by a lack of impartial employee led feedback available in the public domain, www.recruitmentreviews.com intends to enhance job seekers’ decisions about electing a new employer. Whilst there is a wealth of Company generated information available that positions a business as an employer of choice, vital opinions from the perspective of a company’s existing and previous employees are not accessible. The social media led site has been established on the basis that job seekers will find the views of their peers far more valuable than an employer’s official line of what it’s like to work for them.

Driven by its commitment to raising quality standards, Recruitment Reviews not only provides a true insight into what it’s really like to work for a company, but it also allows users to identify whether an organisation conducted itself appropriately with other candidates throughout their recruitment process. Additionally, as Recruitment Reviews strives to be a comprehensive resource for job seekers, the platform also includes a wealth of wider employment and careers advice; covering topics ranging from interview skills to choosing the right recruitment agency and job board.

Oliver Urpi, founder of Recruitment Reviews, highlighted the core value of the site:

“By empowering job seekers and employees to share their experiences of employers, people can now answer previously unanswered questions, such as “what is it really like to work for this company?” and “does this employer actually live up to the culture and image promoted, or is it all smoke and mirrors?” Historically, the non-existence of such information has meant that job seekers often join a new employer blindly, with only biased information to hand. Recruitment Reviews has changed that culture to such an extent that people can now assess potential employers from an employee’s viewpoint. By using Recruitment Reviews, job seekers can avoid wasting their time with unsuitable companies and ultimately negate the disappointment commonly associated with making an uninformed employment decision.”

As the job market continues to show signs of positivity, Recruitment Reviews is a welcome addition to the job seeker’s armoury; they can truly identify those employers and recruitment intermediaries that stand out from the crowd. Both job seekers and people in work can freely post their opinions about seeking employment and review employers in any industry sector by visiting www.recruitmentreviews.com.

Thumbs up for Pertemps

When I moved to Bristol, jobless and penniless, Pertemps Recruitment Agency was my first port of call. After a short interview with a friendly adviser, I took a typing test, passed it and had a job by the end of the week. The initiation process was smooth and painless, and I found the staff to be genuinely accommodating and helpful. I had a few different administrative based jobs courtesy of Pertemps, and was on an average wage of £7 per hour. I never had any problems receiving my payment, which was paid directly into my bank account on a weekly basis (oh joy!) An all round thumbs up for this one.

This is my first attempt at a blog so bear with me while I learn the ropes. I thought it would be a good idea to start this up to get some feedback and ideas from you about what we’re trying to achieve with Recruitment Reviews.

I came up with the idea for Recruitment Reviews about a year ago. I had been working in the Recruitment industry for around 5 years and found myself constantly coming across candidates who were unhappy about the service they were getting from recruiters (not me obviously). The thing that frustrated me about this was that clients still seemed to use the ‘bad’ agencies that were sending CVs without speaking to candidates, not giving feedback to candidates and generally misleading clients and candidates, amongst many other things. I also came across many companies (direct employers) that weren’t operating in the correct manner. They told us one thing then when they interviewed a candidate they told them something different. Candidates also told me about other bad practices which seemed to have become commonplace in certain companies. This is where Recruitment Reviews comes in.

Our Aims

- We want to encourage open and honest sharing of information

- People can post reviews of recruitment agencies, direct employers, service providers and job boards

- It is not a witch hunt or personal attack – all reviews and opinions are constructive

- The site is a place to praise good service and highlight poor service and standards

- The result will be improved service throughout the industry due to clients and candidates being able to make informed decisions on who they work for and with.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the concept and whether there is anything you’d like to see the site offer. Get in touch – oliver@recruitmentreviews.com
